Who we are
FirstGen Evolve is a B2B company that provides mentorship and professional development training to first-generation employees, helping them gain the necessary knowledge and skills to adapt to the workplace and succeed in their careers.
Our Founder, Brianna Logan started FirstGen Evolve: From Graduates to Professionals in July 2024 in NYC after attending a virtual Financial Literacy Lunch and Learn event hosted by her employer in April. Additionally, Brianna had conversations with colleagues and friends who were first-generation college graduates about the lack of guidance they received when adapting to the workplace because they were not taught Financial Literacy in their schools or households.
As a first-generation college graduate, Brianna shared the same experiences as her colleagues and friends. Living in a single-parent household in NYC, Brianna wished she had someone to teach her about managing her money and the nuances of health insurance so she could identify affordable solutions that met her needs while living in an expensive city. Brianna’s mom did not fully understand how to manage her money or the nuances of health insurance because she did not receive guidance on those topics. Hence, she could not provide Brianna with the answers she sought.
It was then that Brianna decided to turn her frustrations into a business to help other first-generation employees in the workplace receive the support that they need to become successful professionals.
